‘I’m outta there’: The odds for Julio Jones’ next team

May 24, 2021Dec 23, 2022 Stryker Maguire

Julio Jones ramped up speculation that he will soon be on his way out of Atlanta Monday, and FanDuel is now offering odds on the next NFL team he’ll play for.

The All Pro wide receiver could be on the trading block as the Falcons look to lessen their salary cap woes ahead of the new season. Right now Atlanta is struggling to sign its own draft picks, and needs to free up space.

Jones was called live by former superstar TE Shannon Sharpe on the daytime FOX sports talk show Undisputed, and when asked if he was staying in Atlanta, his answer only added more weight to the frenzied speculation about his future.

“I’m outta there” was Jones’ response, while when asked if he wanted to join Dallas he hilariously responded: “I want to win”. Jones had been pictured over the weekend on social media apparently wearing a Cowboys hoodie.

Trading Jones post-June1 would save the Falcons $15.3million against the cap , though any team looking to acquire the 32-year-old would need to have at least $15.3million of space to take on his contract.

Atlanta is reportedly seeking a first-round draft pick in return for Jones, though many experts believe they will eventually have to settle for less.

There are only a finite list of teams who have the available cap space right now to acquire Jones, though that list could grow of course. Despite missing seven games last season, many experts still believe he can be a game-changing player.

Julio Jones Next Team Odds

As stated, FanDuel is already offering odds on which team Jones next plays a snap for (market available in Colorado only). Tennessee heads the market, and the latest odds are as follows:

  • +175 Tennesse
  • +250 Atlanta
  • +500 New England
  • +750 San Francisco
  • +750 Washington
  • +850 Arizona
  • +950 Las Vegas
  • +1200 Baltimore
  • +1200 Dallas
  • +3000 New Orleans
  • +3000 Detroit
  • +4500 Tampa Bay

Jones a Falcon great

Jones has been a superstar right from the get-go since Atlanta gave up the farm to move up from 26 to 6 in the first round of the 2011 NFL Draft to get him.

The former Alabama standout has since been an All Pro twice, made seven Pro Bowls and snagged 848 catches for 12,896 yards and 60 touchdowns.

Jones was a key part of the Falcons team which came so close to Super Bowl glory in February 2017. But they blew a 28-3 lead and allowed Tom Brady and the Patriots to roar back and claim a famous 34-28 overtime win.
