Seahawks +4000 after Rams loss, Russell injury

Thursday was a brutal night for the Seattle Seahawks in the Pacific Northwest – Pete Carroll’s men are now +4000 odds to win Super Bowl LVI after losing to the Rams AND having Russell Wilson leave the game through injury.

Double whammies don’t come much harder than this, and Seattle will wake up on Friday with a 2-3 record and in last place in football’s toughest division, the NFC West.

Matthew Stafford threw for 365 yards to lead the Rams to a primetime victory on Thursday Night Football, but losing the game might be nothing for Seattle compared to the pain of that injury to QB1.

Wilson left the game with what Carroll later described as “a badly sprained finger” and replaced by Geno Smith. Geno played surprisingly well in relief – just not enough to pull out the W.

Russell Wilson injury update

Carroll also described it as “a significant night” in terms of the Wilson injury, though he did go on to describe his quarterback as “one of the great healers of all time”.

Wilson will need to be – Seattle is already on the outs in the NFC East division race as red-hot Kyler Murray and Arizona lead the way at 4-0.

The good news for Pete, Russell and the Seahawks? Wilson now has 10 days to recover from that injury before Seattle plays again. That will be a Sunday nighter against Pittsburgh on October 17.

Online sportsbooks had Seattle at anything from +1200 to +1600 win Super Bowl LVI before the season began – now like we said it is available at +4000 with Caesars.

NFC West Odds

As well as being almost forgotten on that Super Bowl money line, Seattle is also now last place in the odds to win the NFC West. The Rams lead the way with Arizona while Carroll’s team is a distant +900 – something like four times the odds it was preseason.

Latest NFC West Odds after the Rams defeated Seattle are:

  • +155 Los Angeles Rams (FanDuel)
  • +175 Arizona Cardinals (bet365)
  • +700 San Francisco 49ers (DraftKings)
  • +900 Seattle Seahawks (DraftKings)

NFC West Standings

The standings after that Rams vs Seahawks game are:

  • Arizona Cardinals 4-0
  • Los Angeles Rams 4-1
  • San Francisco 49ers 2-2
  • Seattle Seahawks 2-3

Pretty ugly reading for Seattle.
