If you wanted proof that the U.S. is betting on the boom in F1 interest, how about a new Grand Prix in Las Vegas?
Well that is now reality after the motorsport series announced a THIRD race in the United States from 2023 onwards.
The sight of F1 cars hurtling down the Strip in a night race should be pretty cool – better stay in the casino if you’re drinking as those sidewalks will be pretty dangerous…
Las Vegas is third F1 race in U.S.
F1 has already parked its truck in the U.S. pretty heavily with two races already on the 2022 schedule.

- Miami, Florida makes its debut on the schedule in 2022
Having an F1 race in Vegas is another sign that betting is really here to stay in a big way – if you’d said 10 years ago there would be an NFL franchise you’d have been called crazy, but here we are.
Believe it or not, 2023 won’t be the first time the gambling Mecca in the Nevada desert has ever staged an F1 race. The series raced there in 1981 and 1982 – but those races were held in a car park in Caesars Palace. Not surprisingly the experiment didn’t last long…
Netflix and thrills for F1
This time though apparently things will be different, with F1 booming in the U.S. on the back of an epic 2021 season and the hit Netflix docuseries ‘Drive to Survive’.
The 14-turn track for the 2023 race will run for 3.8 miles (6.12km) with top speeds expected to hit around 212mph (342km/h). The design features three straights, a high-speed cornering sequence and a single chicane section.
We are still a year out, but if Stryker’s bosses are reading this and fancy sending him out to Vegas to cover the race, heck he’s all in. Hit me up…
