Nov 16, 2022Dec 23, 2022 Stryker Maguire

Brazil still heads the soccer World Cup odds for the 2022 finals in Qatar with just days until the biggest tournament of all gets way in the Middle East.

The South American giants – winners of the famous trophy a record five times – will lock horns with Serbia, Switzerland and Cameroon in the first phase of the first ever winter finals (November 21 to December 18 inclusive). Brazil is +350 to become world champion for a sixth time.

The USMNT (+15000 or bet $100 to win $15,000) meanwhile faces some familiar foes in the shape of England and Iran and Wales in Group B.

Mexico is also +15000 odds after El Tri was handed a tough assignment in Group C with Lionel Messi’s Argentina, Robert Lewandowski’s Poland and Saudi Arabia.

Lionel Messi bids to win the trophy for a first time in December, and his Argentina team is +550 second favorite to win it all for the third time in their history.

Defending champion France is third favorite at +650 after Les Bleus were bracketed with Denmark, Tunisia and Australia in the opening group stages.

Portugal’s Cristiano Ronaldo, still searching for the one award that has eluded him in a glittering career, saw his country placed in Group H along with Ghana, South Korea and Uruguay. Portugal is +1600 odds to win the World Cup for the first time.

The other North American team in the finals, Canada, is +30000 odds after being bracketed with Belgium, Morocco and 2018 finalist Croatia in Group F.

Missing from the draw of course was Italy, which suffered a shock elimination at the hands of North Macedonia.

What are the odds for the 2022 World Cup?

Brazil is the +350 favorite with Lionel Messi’s Argentina next on +550 and reigning champion France on +650. Mexico is +15000, the same odds as the USMNT, with Canada double those odds at +30000.

Who are the favorites for the 2022 World Cup?

Brazil – the five-times winner, is the +350 favorite.

Who is the most likely winner of the 2022 World Cup?

You’d have to be pretty crazy to rule out the defending champion France. Yeah they messed up in the Euros but they still have ridiculous talent, headed by the amazing Kylian Mbappe. They would be our early pick at +650.

Did Qatar qualify for the World Cup?

Yes, Qatar qualified for the finals. The host nation and also the defending champion (France in this case) qualify automatically.
