Aaron Rodgers Odds: Pass on yards bet, MVP latest

Sep 24, 2022Dec 23, 2022 Stryker Maguire

We don’t need the betting odds to tell us Aaron Rodgers will be box office again in 2022, but everything else is very much up for grabs early in the new NFL season according to online sportsbooks.

Rodgers put an end to more than a year of drama and soap opera in Wisconsin when he signed a contract extension to remain a Packer and become the NFL’s highest-paid player at more than $50million APY.

Aaron of course is coming off back-to-back MVP awards, but he still yearns for the one thing that pro football players prize above all – a Lombardi trophy and another ring. It is now more than a decade since he claimed his solitary championship so far when the Pack ruled the world by knocking off Ben Roethlisberger’s Pittsburgh Steelers in JerryWorld.

So far in 2022 Rodgers has stunk out the joint in a 23-7 loss in Minnesota, before an efficient night as the Pack knocked off Chicago on Sunday Night Football.

So here are all the major bets and odds concerning Rodgers after the first two weeks of the 2022 season:

Aaron Rodgers MVP Odds

Rodgers is not even close to being favorite to winning MVP honors again in 2022 – he is currently trading at +2000 (bet $100 to win $2000) with a number of different online sportsbooks. The current favorite is red-hot Buffalo Bills QB Josh Allen at +300.

History more than pro football logic is against Rodgers – only one player ever has won the MVP award three times in a row. But guess who that was? Rodgers’ predecessor as Packers QB, Brett Favre.

Rodgers has won the MVP award four times in total – he claimed it in 2011 and 2014 before that double in 2020 and 2021.

How many Touchdown Passes in 2022?

Rodgers was absolutely stellar in 2021, shaking off the rust from a horrible opening loss to New Orleans to tear it up the rest of the way as Green Bay locked up the #1 seed in the National Football Conference.

He threw 37 touchdown passes last season, but the Over/Under for 2022 is considerably less than that. The main reason being Aaron will not have Davante Adams to throw to – his primary target was traded to the Las Vegas Raiders.

Rodgers also lost deep threat Marquez Valdes-Scantling to the Chiefs in free agency, and though the Pack brought in Christian Watson through the Draft he has been struggling with injuries.

The big hope for Rodgers now comes in the shape of fourth-round draft pick Romeo Doubs. The Nevada sensation has looked terrific so far, handling everything Green Bay has thrown at him. And thrown to him. Doubs really could be the key to whether Aaron smashes this betting line or not.

With all that in mind, DraftKings set the line for Rodgers TD passes in 2022 at 31.5 – you could bet the Over at -115 and the Under at -105.

In the overall betting line for who will throw the most TD passes in 2022, Rodgers was a +1600 shot when the season began.

Odds to lead the NFL in Passing Yards in 2022

If you factor in all of what we just told you about Rodgers’ receivers for 2022, highly unlikely he wins this award. Remember he only thew for 4115 yards WITH Davante in 2021 – more than 1000 yards shy of Tom Brady’s incredible mark (5316). Green Bay does actually try to run the ball too…

Justin Herbert and Patrick Mahomes currently lead the way on +500 with Rodgers way back in the distance at +7500 (bet $100 to win $7500). That tells you just how unlikely this is. He has 429 passing yards to date, that is more than 300 behind the early leader – Miami’s Tua Tagovailoa (739).

Aaron Rodgers Passing Yards Odds for 2022

So the line with DraftKings opened at 4120.5, just above where Rodgers finished in 2021. Pretty punchy.

Unsurprisingly, a few short weeks later that line dipped a little and you could currently bet the Over/Under at 4050.5 heading into the season. The odds were -110 (bet $110 to win $100) for either outcome.

A Super Bowl ring for Rodgers in 2022?

While the Packers receiving corps appears to be depleted in 2022, the rest of the team does not.

The Packers went into the new season with an excellent run game, and a stellar defense after the first-round additions of Georgia national champions Quay Walker (LB) and Devonte Wyatt (DT).

So what odds a world championship for the Packers? Well right now they are +1400 fourth favorite behind Buffalo (+450), Kansas City (+700), Tampa Bay (+800) and Philadelphia (+1300).

The Packers are +600 third favorite with bet365 behind Tampa (+325) and Philadelphia (+500) to represent the NFC in Super Bowl LVII in Glendale next February.

Aaron Rodgers Odds to throw most interceptions

Okay so this is highly highly unlikely to happen but we needed to include it.

Rodgers is so accurate that the letters INT very rarely figure in his game logs. In 2022 he started by tossing a pair of picks in that horrible opening loss to the Saints. But after that he threw only 2 more in the remaining 16 games – absolutely incredible levels.

No wonder then that DraftKings quoted Rodgers at huge odds of +8000 to top this particular stat line, with Zach Wilson of the New York Jets the +800 preseason favorite.

Aaron Rodgers Next Team Odds

Okay so this was a huge betting line for about a year when we had the big freeze between Aaron Charles Rodgers and the Packers front office. At one stage San Francisco enquired about trading for him, while Denver was hot favorite to acquire him for a long time.

For now though it is in the rear view mirror with Rodgers signed to that blockbusting new contract extension. If things do not finish well for the Pack in 2022 though, expect this line to make a swift return to prominence.

Who has the best odds to get Aaron Rodgers?

It was the Denver Broncos, but then of course they traded for Russell Wilson after Rodgers decided to sign that contract extension with the Packers.

Who is favored in the NFC North?

Green Bay is the +100 favorite after two weeks of the season, but those odds are much bigger than preseason – following that rough start for the Pack in Minnesota.
