Von Miller Buffalo Bills Super Bowl Odds

The Buffalo Bills are clear favorite to win Super Bowl LVII at +650 odds after adding superstar pass rusher Von Miller to an already stacked roster.

Miller, who is coming off a Super Bowl winning season with the Los Angeles Rams following his mid-season trade from Denver, has signed a six-year, $120million deal to move to New York state.

Bills Super Bowl Odds

Reaction from online sportsbooks was not surprising – the Bills, who had been joint favourite with Kansas City to win big next February in Arizona – are now out on their own. They are generally +650 (bet $100 to win $650) to win the big game in Glendale though Caesars are bravely standing firm at +750.

Miller turns 33 years of age later this month but he is still an absolute terror off the edge, particularly in big games. He was stellar for the Rams during their recent playoff run, producing four sacks and pressure all the way.

The addition of Von just improves what was already probably the best defense in football, and it’s a move which really says Buffalo is all in on capitalizing on what it has. It came close to scaling the mountain last season before losing out to Patrick Mahomes and the Chiefs in a playoff shootout for the ages.

It’s reported that the Rams made a concerted effort to try and keep Miller in the building – with HC Sean McVay reaching out personally to try to persuade him to re-sign in Los Angeles. But to no avail, and we have a signing which strengthens one Super Bowl contender, and weakens another.

Von Miller Contract

If handing out a massive six-year deal to a pass rusher who turns 33 in a few days sounds crazy, it’s important to look deeper into the numbers. And not just that top-line $120million over six.

Only just over $50million of the contract is guaranteed and it averages out at $17.5million per year for the first four years. It’s effectively a three-year deal for $53million – very similar to the one Chandler Jones signed in Las Vegas.

Just to top off a terrific day for the Bills in free agency, they also added former Tampa Bay Buccaneers TE O.J. Howard to their roster on a one-year deal worth $3.5million, but which could rise to $5million with incentives.
